The Deportee Task Force, government stakeholders and partners coordinated the successful arrival of 18 Marshallese returnees from the United States on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. These individuals (17 men, 1 woman) had been removed from the US following convictions for crimes ranging from petty to serious offenses. This marks the first large-scale deportation of Marshallese individuals by the Trump Administration. They arrived on a U.S. C-130 military aircraft with a substantial escort from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Upon landing, the group was processed through intake procedures including briefings, medical checks, and immigration screenings. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of RMI and the Marshall Islands Halfway House provided refreshments and orientation support. After the intake process, the returnees were brought to Baitul Ahad Mosque in Uliga, where they were served lunch by members of the local congregation. They also accommodated three returnees and provided them with any immediate needs. As of June 16, three returnees have been released to family members or returned to their home islands, including the lone female, whose travel to Ebeye was sponsored by the Kora in Okrane Club. Authorities continue to monitor and support the reintegration of the group.
