The name, first coined in Springdale, Arkansas, plays on words — Jikin and Chicken — honoring the Marshallese community working in poultry production there. Today, Chikin Melele: Marshallese Information Central delivers trustworthy news across the United States and Central Pacific in English, Marshallese, and Chuukese. With correspondents in Majuro, Guam, and Arkansas, we share stories that connect Marshallese worldwide, celebrate community successes, and highlight news also from Micronesia.
