US Immigration arrived by charter flight to Majuro on Wednesday morning escorting 2 women and 4 men. This brings the total number of people deported form the US to the Marshall Islands to 53. Among those being repatriated is “Junior” who we previously reported was detained by US Immigration in January of this year and then moved to the detention facility in Guantanamo Bay last month. This is the second group escorted by US immigration for repatriation since 18 people arrived on June 10.

As part of the repatriation process, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community RMI mosque again hosted lunch and the orientation for the group. Though timing and space is limited, with an upcoming spiritual convention, the mosque is temporarily hosting the two female returnees. Though the MI Halfway House is still seeking budget and is not yet operational, Halfway House representatives will also be there throughout the entire process.
