Diana Chen

My name is Diana Chen. I’m a researcher, I study food and the environment.

I live in Bentonville now with my husband and kids, but I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland – home of Utz crab chips, Berger cookies, and the Star-Spangled Banner!

I have two degrees in agricultural sciences, an important field of study for fixing the environment and feeding the population. Then, in 2018 I got my PhD in Environmental Dynamics from the University of Arkansas (WOO PIG SOOIE). For my dissertation project, I studied Marshallese food in Springdale.

Since graduation, I have taught Sustainability in Business class at the University and volunteered for local non-profits, including the Arkansas Coalition of Marshallese.

Currently, I am working on a research project about ethnic food in Jersey City, New Jersey and one about Jewish food.
