At the closing ceremonies for May Day 2022, three graduating seniors were presented with $500 each towards college expenses, presented on behalf of Marshallese employees with Springdale Schools. Alena Ralpho, Jabyokwe Ketwan, and Chapel Capelle were present for the closing ceremonies. They introduced themselves and shared their plans for study in college. Alena graduated from Rogers Heritage High Schools and plans to attend Northwest Arkansas Community College. Chapel graduated from Springdale High School and plans to double major in political science and economics at the University of Arkansas with the goal of becoming a lawyer. Another graduate from Springdale High School, Jabyokwe is moving in this week getting into the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. One of Jabyokwe’s teachers commented that she was “really bright” and sure that she will do something great with her education. Two other students, who were not in attendance, Juliet Hatchfield and Felix Ketwan, also received awards. Juliet, graduating from Springdale High School, will be studying engineering at the University of Central Arkansas. And, graduating from Har Ber High School, Felix will be going to Kansas State Aerospace Tech School to become a pilot.
