H.E. David Paul and Sen. David Anitok meet families affected by ICE during Nuclear Victims Remembrance visit

The RMI Consulate posted photos from the visit from His Excellency David Paul and Hon. Senator David Anitok for the Nuclear Victims Remembrance Week Conference in NWA. They also met with the leaders of local Marshallese affiliated NGOs (ACOM, MEI, Ozark Atoll, and AJRC) and with Marshallese families affected by recent ICE raids, as well as Kiribati Permanent Representative to the UN, Teburoro Tito and his team.

JP Beth Coger wrote in her weekly newsletter: “Last week I met with the Marshallese Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the Marshall Islands, Honorable H. E. Charles Rudolph Paul and RMI Senator David Anitok and other community members. We strategized on what to do about the alarming rate of deportations of Marshallese men, how to get them assistance, how to end the county’s participation in the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program and efforts to educate the community on the history of the Marshall Islands and how Marshallese enter the country legally and have a path to citizenship.”
