Joshua Manene was born in La Grande, Oregon in 1992 to his parents, Tolio and Ponciana Clanry. He grew up in Oregon until 2006, when his parents moved back to the Marshall Islands to become missionaries. He began informally interpreting English and Marshallese for his father and his uncle Carl Debrum at the age of 13. He also got his GED I in the Marshall Islands and began college at the age of 15. By the time he returned to the United States in 2013, he had interpreted over 20 sermons.
Joshua continues to interpret for family members and other preachers. He began a church He also preaches both in Marshallese and in English in Enid, Oklahoma. He is excited to begin his new chapter in life as a registered Court interpreter.
