Miss Pacific Moemoana Safa’ato’a Schwenke left a lasting impression with the Marshallese community in Majuro and Wotje following her brief island visit a couple of weeks ago.

The visit is part of Miss Pacific’s tour through the Micronesian islands. The main purpose of her visit is to market out islands and experience our culture, an organizer from the Visitors Authority said.

Moemoana got to share her Samoan traditional dance “Siva” with Marshalles children as part of her adventure in Majuro.

Moemoana was crowned Miss Samoa in 2023. Moemoana’s mother Maryjane McKibbin-Schwenke was crowned Miss Samoa in 1997-1998. She also coveted the title of Miss Pacific the same year.

“Arriving in the Marshall Islands with a heart full of gratitude. I feel the love in my bones, fully embraced with the Iakwe Spirit. Komol tata for the beautiful welcome,” Miss Pacific on her first day in Majuro, where she was greeted like royalty by fans on the streets welcoming her and performance groups at the Amata Kabua International Airport and Marshall Islands Resort.

Miss Pacific also made stops at Palau and Kiribati as part of her Micronesian tour.
