No changes to Oregon Health Plan and Healthier Oregon despite Federal changes

Oregon Health Authority (OHA) has published a statement about recent federal changes that may impact healthcare in Oregon.  They are monitoring these changes, but no changes are being made to Oregon Health Plan and Healthier Oregon. It is important for people in every Oregon community to be able to receive health care and other services that they need. OHA remains to its 2030 goal and Strategic Plan to achieve affordable and quality care and to safeguard essential health freedoms. There has been and will be no deviation from this mission.

What is OHA’s Strategic Plan?

OHA is working towards ending health disparities by 2030 in 2019. They are the first health organization in the nation to set such a high goal. This goal is to help all Oregonians achieve their maximum health potential and well-being. They are working to reduce the differences caused by race, ethnicity, language, disability, immigration status, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and social class. OHA continues to work and make policies according to this mission.  This includes listening and working with the communities they serve. They strive to make Oregon a place where everyone has an opportunity to thrive.

  1. Improve health by helping people quit unhealthy habits
  2. Enable all people to access to affordable care
  3. Create an healthy environment for families
  4. Achieve health in tribal communities
  5. Increase the ability of OHA to eliminate health disparities
