The Marshall Islands will continue to work alongside the US Government despite President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement, President Hilda Heine said during her keynote remarks at the International Conference Center Tuesday during the National Socio-Economic Climate Summit. The President conveyed the same message at the beginning of the year and said the RMI is bracing for an incoming US Administration that don’t see climate change as a threat to the world. POTUS has rescinded the US support on the Paris Accord on his first day in the Oval Office. Another blow to the Marshall Islands is POTUS’ decision to withdraw from the World Health Organization. The Marshall Islands has long been advocating for the recognition of The Republic of China, Taiwan in the WHO and United Nations. The US under the Biden Administration were strong supporters of RMI and Taiwan.
