Translation, Media, and Sponsored Content

In addition to journalism, Chikin Melele News (CMN) offers professional translation and media services grounded in community knowledge, language expertise, and cultural accuracy.

Chikin Melele offers translation of sponsored content and video production, including public health messaging and community information campaigns, such as our current public health advisory for the Arkansas Department of Health’s Be Well Arkansas campaign to help people quit smoking.

CMN translators and writers have worked on a range of projects, including:

  • Climate Disaster and Preparedness Plans (IOM)
  • RMI National Adaptation Plan
  • Adult education and workforce learning materials (NICC, George’s)
  • Education and community outreach (NWACC Groundworks, UAMS)
  • and other religious translations

We are happy to discuss and provide estimates for translation of advertisements and small to mid-size projects, including:

  • Translation (English–Marshallese and Marshallese–English)
  • Transcription
  • Audio recording
  • Video production and multilingual media content

For large-scale or corporate contracts, as well as for interpretation, we recommend Joor Interpretation Exchange https://www.joorinterpretation.exchange/home.

If you want to learn Marshallese, we have an online course for second language learners and resources for heritage learners (such as files to print 3D letter magnets, Marshallese texts and supplemental materials). Email Melanie Carbine at aejemjem@gmail.com. She can assist in arranging remote lessons with a native Marshallese tutor using her curriculum. If you are looking for recommendations for recorded or written language texts to use with your students or children, we will be making a library available soon of open-source materials.

Chikin Melele is grateful for the many nonprofits, schools, churches, and community organizations that have collaborated with us over the years.

We also acknowledge our past sponsorships and partnerships with the FSM Consulate, Community Clinic, The Jones Center, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (Play AR Way and NWA Vaccine), Ozarks Botanical Gardens, and Arkansas Covid Project.
